Welcome to Malelane

Malelane is situated in the lush Crocodile River Valley very close to the Malelane Gate of the Kruger National Park and about 18km east of Kaapmuiden.

The village of Malelane was established in 1949 on the farm of the same name, and some believe that the name comes from the Swazi word "emlalani" which means "the place of the lala palms".

Malelane is the centre of the sugar-growing industry in Mpumalanga, and owing to a large variety of indigenous plants and trees, it is a very good spot for bird lovers.

The Kruger National Park is nearby, and visitors can enjoy the natural splendours on offer. Game drives and walks are just some of the activities for those looking to take in a bit of the African bush.

Travellers who remembered to pack their clubs can enjoy nine holes at the Malelane Golf Course, which is almost always in good condition.

Where to stay in Malelane is only a click of the mouse away.
